I was looking through my email the other day when I got a $3 off coupon and a list of the seasonal drinks. They were all looking pretty unappetizing...except the last one. It was a hibiscus lemonade tea and I wanted it. Then I realized I could make it at home. So I did - with some alterations.
Theirs: Black tea, hibiscus, lemon, and who knows what else. Mine: Fancy Pink Lemonade Tea 1 cup black tea (Reusing a tea bag after steeping for 5 min. will result in a mostly decaf cup.) 4 cups herbal tea (2 Tbsp Hydration Blend with 2 Tbsp Hibiscus with 4 cups water.) 1 lemon (juice) 4 Tbsp chia seeds (I wanted add-ins like at a boba place.) Honey to taste I poured it, stuck a straw in it, and told my taste-testers it was like a fancy drink from a boba shop. They called it pink lemonade tea and drank it up! I really liked it too. We drank it both hot without chia and cool with chia seeds. It's good both ways!

My Typically Invisible Newsletter has many quick meditations and exercises. Find one you like and try it several times today. The format of the newsletter is "energy of the day" and then "exercises" so you can sip the first part and scroll right down to the exercises.
Grounding/Earthing Exercises Let me know which one is your favorite or if you have a different way you like to ground! 1. Blow out as hard as you can for as long as you can. When you think you have no more breath, blow out some more.
2. When you MUST take a breath in, breathe in naturally through your nose and out through your mouth 3 times. Your body will remember exactly what to do. You might even want to close your eyes to make it more relaxing. This is perfect for those of us who have forgotten how to breathe. We may take shallow breaths from the top of our lungs but trying to take a deep breath doesn't work. The blowing out will help to reset everything so the 3 natural breaths after will actually feel refreshing. You might want to pay particular attention to the stillness that comes between the in/out. But if you don't want to, the simple act of breathing might just be enough. Studies (that were discussed in a class I had over 10 years ago and have no reference for) have shown that taking three breaths every 15 minutes throughout the day will show a change in brain functioning on fMRI. The brain will go from stressed to relaxed in a matter of days. Remind yourself to do this by setting a timer or do it every time you sit down (at your desk, on the toilet, in your car, etc.). Try it once and tell me what you think. Then try it for a week and check back in again! Want a little support on your healing journey? Get a Self-Healing Consultation! |
